Roehampton University is developing online versions of modules on its MA in Audiovisual Translation with a view to making the entire programme available online. The presentation will focus on ways in which cutting edge technologies will be used to deliver translation software-related material to students in an online environment. We will look at the teaching of software and technology through techniques such as video, podcasting, and Flash tutorials and will explore ways to achieve both synchronous and asynchronous communications between teachers and students using Web 2.0 and other approaches. Along with this discussion of delivery methods, we will be considering the crucial issue of student motivation and engagement in the online learning process.
