Josélia NEVES has a degree in Modern Languages and Literatures, an MA in English Studies and a PhD in Translation Studies, with a dissertation on Subtitling for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing. She has taught at the Instituto Politécnico de Leiria and at the Universidade de Coimbra, in Portugal. She has carried out a number of action research projects within the field of sensory accessibility for television, cinema, DVD, eLearning/Web environments and cultural vensues (e.g. museums, theatre, opera). At present she is working on a post doctoral research project, at the Imperial College of London, which addresses inclusive communication in museums.
